Don’t think this game is really for me though! I can definitely see why it’s gained such a massive fan following. It’s been a crazy ride, and overall, it’s incredibly impressive to see what kind of world/characters that Cheritz has managed to build with this game. I feel like if I progress further, Mystic Messenger will become less and less of a dating sim and more of a visual novel with a bit of romance sprinkled in, and so…my journey ends here, at least for now. Instead, I stumbled into a whole universe with wayyy more going on than expected. But like MC, I initially downloaded Mystic Messenger to chat with pretty (pre-programmed) boys, and to basically enjoy a nice fluffy love story with lots of sexual tension and romantic moments and such. If you’re into that, and you’re into the whole RFA/Mint Eye meta plot, then I can totally see why 707′s route might be amazing for you. It’s become clear to me by now that pretty much all the RFA members are “broken” in some way (707/Jumin moreso than, say, Zen/Jaehee), and MC’s presence in each character’s route helps “fix” them. It’s pretty understandable: this poor boy has a pretty tragic backstory that made it hard for him to connect with others, and the game implies that he’s been depressed and hiding it for a really long time.īut…I dunno. In person, 707 is mega serious, nasty at times (he was an ass to MC until DAY FREAKING NINE in an attempt to push her away), and has the strangest relationship with religion that I’ve ever seen. The twists in this route came out of nowhere: V’s betrayal, Rika’s involvement with the cultish Mint Eye…wtf did I just read? Perhaps one of the most surprising reveals is that the happy, quirky personality that 707 puts up in chat is simply a front. I just don’t find the meta to be all that compelling? And to make matters worse, the route ends on an infuriatingly open-ended note, with 707′s bro captured by Vanderwood and the RFA in shambles. Basically, almost the entirety of 707′s plot revolves around the whole hacker/Mint Eye meta plot that I’ve been studiously ignoring this whole time. And the hacker/“Unknown”/“Saeran” who’s been skulking about everywhere? 707′s twin brother, who V and Rika kidnapped and brainwashed after promising 707 they’d take care of him.

His maid, Mary (?) Vanderwood, referenced in other routes, turns out to be 707′s handler for the agency. We learn that 707′s employer/agency is shady af - if 707 doesn’t do his job, he dies. But alas, the route takes a pretty dark turn once it actually gets started. It was super fun to finally get the chance to flirt with 707 during the first 4 days/common route, after holding back for so long. Things start out normal enough - MC trolls around in the chatroom alongside 707, all the characters are their usual wacky selves, etc. …Where do I even begin? 707′s route definitely possesses a level of crazy on par with Jumin’s route (I guess the Deep Routes are more plot-driven?). So uh… don’t hate me, okay? This is a personal review :’D I recommend getting into the chat before the party and then calling every character after the chat but before the party. My understanding from briefly poking my head into the MysMe fandom is that 707 is an overwhelming fan favorite. I will not include them on every character’s day. Chat opens at 08:00 and the party is at 12:00. Note: The Eleventh Day in each route is always the same. Updating I am currently in the process of updating this call log. Look in your call history and look for red arrows to see which calls you missed. The only way to get the phone call if you miss it (and you aren’t VIP), is to pay 5HG to unlock it to call them back (This amount is 10HG in V’s Route). Note: If you miss the chat, you miss the phone call.
